all's fair in Vietnam (Asean) by noah kiinger (dia 2b, elc 150)

Based on the story that I have read is All's fair in Vietnam. My opinion from that story if I was the Vietnam shop  seller I  should be grateful for who I am. Because we must  know everything has their pros and cons. From the story we can take the example through skin colour. In fact when the colour is more darker the reaction for the UV sunlight is less compared to fair skin. Besides that, do not waste money for the tnings that not necessary. Do not do the things that impossible to reach, like changing the skin colour.  For the conclusion, everybody is beautiful in their own way.   

twelve and not stupid by zuraidah omar (dia 2b, ELC 150)

     Based on the story that I have read is Twelve and not stupid by Zuraidah Omar. My opinion from that story is if I in this story I would think the relationship between Papa and Auntie May had a special relationship. This is because I have to lie my Mama and I do not know what the reason that I should do that and that’s why I think like that. I think Papa should be clear what happen when he take me late at the school. Also, I think Papa should introduce who is auntie May to me so that makes me feel respect for her.

     My second opinion is I like the storyline this is because the ending of the story is simple. End of the stories, makes me happy because I realize no special relationship between Papa and auntie May. Actually auntie May’s is sister-in-law to Papa. Besides that I like the simple language that writers use and makes me easy to understand of the whole story that writers would like to tell.

     My next opinion is I felt very angry when I know the husband’s of aunty May not care about his family because he married for the second time without his first wife know. As a husband he should be responsible for the family instead of running away from the problems. 

the necklace by guy de maupassant (dia 2b, ELC150)

     Based on the story that i have read is the Necklace by Guy de Maupassant. My first opinion about this story is we must be grateful for the live that we have and to be happy what we have. The things that we have in our live should be the valuable things. Even we have poor live does not mean that we can not live a happy life. For example when we go through the story , we find that Mathilda’s life was going on very well. Although she was not satisfied with her life, she was living better than most of the middle class women. She had a loving husband. She had a maidservant who did everything for her. She was very beautiful and looked out of her dress. All this suggests that her life was all right. Madam Loisel could be to appreciate what she have, because in a moment it could be gone. She lost her beauty because she lost the necklace. She lost all wealth because of her stupidity that evening. Everything would have been different if the necklace was not lost.  

     My second opinion is accept who you are and be true to yourself. We must be proud of ourself so from that we can have confidence to deal with community. From the story we know the Necklace teaches that we must not think beyond our limits. We must be satisfied with what we have and what we are. Do not aspire for more than we have, it will ruin our life. Be content with what we have and find happiness in it.

     Third opinion is honestly can bring a reward. If Mathilde had told the truth about the lost necklace, she would not have to suffer such hardship. From the story when the necklace was lost her husband asked his wife to tell a lie. He asked her to write to her friend that she had broken the clasp of the necklace and she would have it repaired and then return it. Now it was his greatest mistake because it resulted in his and his wife’s tragedy. We must be honest enough to confess his mistake instead of running from situations and turning back. A small thing or a chance or fate can ruin or save a person. Chance is more powerful than human resolution and it is man’s destiny.
